Our campus features a secure keypad entry with PIN for each parent and staff to ensure your child’s security. We also perform appropriate checks for authorized alternate pickups. Safety and cleanliness within premises ensure a comfortable learning atmosphere for children. Our school campus, including playgrounds, is constantly monitored during the school day.
Our faculty and staff are trained to respond quickly and appropriately to the most common, and many uncommon, emergency situations. Most of our staff, aside from being CPR & First Aid certified, has also had Health & Safety as well as Fire Safety training.
DMS personnel are required to report child abuse as defined by the Georgia Child Abuse Laws (Code Section 19-7-5). This code section states that, among other things, mandatory reporting is required of school teachers and officials.
Child abuse or neglect is defined as including behavior or acts resulting in imminent risk of serious harm, death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse, or exploitation of a child (usually a person under the age of 18, but a younger age may be specified in cases not involving sexual abuse) by a parent or caretaker who is responsible for the child’s welfare.
Our facilities have been carefully evaluated and modified to address potential vulnerabilities and are equipped with Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPPs) and the resources to execute them. Our EPPs feature detailed instructions and protocols to address most common scenarios including severe weather.
